Vocabulary Words

This week's (Sept. 10-13, 2024) vocabulary words are:

P1 & P2- gnaw   P3 & P4- gnome     P5 & P6- gnash

Encourage your child to learn and write the meaning of their grade word, then put it into the 'mailbox' next to my class door. Also, use the word in your conversations to model how to use the word in the appropriate context.

Happy Learning!

Helping Early Writers

Primary One and Two Ideas:

1.Have your child say two words that rhyme. Repeat.

2. You say two words. Have your child determine whether or not they rhyme. Repeat.

3. Write a 3-letter word. Have your child write two words from the same family. (E.g. if you write 'hop', your child may write 'bop', 'sop', etc..

4. say a 3-letter word. Have your child say it to him-/herself slowly before attempting to write.
