Dear Public School Leaders and Administrators,

On Friday September 30th, 2022, the Minister of Health announced that the Public Health Emergency Order will come to a close on November 30th, 2022. As you may know, the Public Health Emergency Order lays the legal framework for COVID- 19 safety measures, such as mask-wearing and testing which have been enforced since 2020.

As a result, COVID-19 pre-return testing after school breaks and COVID-19 screening testing have been discontinued and will no longer be provided for the Bermuda Public School System.

As we continue to live with COVID-19, I encourage you to follow the Department of Education’s Living Safely with COVID-19 Guidelines which were provided to you last week. This will help prevent any potential spread of COVID-19 in schools and maintain a safe school building environment for both staff and students.
