SPS Netball Champions!
Somerset Primary vs Gilbert Institute
5 March 2025
Venue: Somerset Cricket Club
As a part of your child’s P.E. program, all P5 and P6 students in government schools throughout Bermuda will participate in the Premier's Youth Fitness Program also known as FITNESSGRAM (a fitness assessment that measures health-related fitness for youth).
The FITNESSGRAM physical fitness assessment measures aerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and body composition. The FITNESSGRAM assessment is a measure of good health as opposed to athletic ability. Each student will be assessed using the following assessment components:
**15m Pacer Test **** Push-Ups **** Curl-Ups **** Sit and Reach Test (flexibility) **** Height/Weight **
The Ministry of Education requires testing and data collection to be completed twice during the school year.
Pre-Test completed by October 31st and Post-Test completed by April 31st.
A confidential FITNESSGRAM report will be provided for each student to take home. This report will include your child’s scores and information on the FITNESSGRAM Health Fitness Zones. The Healthy Fitness Zone represents the level of fitness needed for good health.
For more information regarding the FITNESSGRAM assessment, please refer to www.FITNESSGRAM.net/faqparents.
