Work Assignment for M2 Students - The Week of October 19th-October 22nd, 2021
Topic: Analyzing and Critiquing Genres.
This week we will complete our lesson on setting and how it impacts the other elements of fiction. We will then begin to look at ‘Characters and the method of Characterization’.
Tuesday October 19, 2021
Opening: Identify and explain one way in which the setting of a story influences/impacts the character within the story.

- Use the film to respond to the following questions:
- What is the setting of the film?
- explain the ways in which the setting help shape the characters.
- How does the setting contribute to the mood and conflict in the story?
- How does the setting influence the plot?
- How would the story have been different if it were set in another time and place? Give specific examples of the time and place you will reference in your response.
Closing: Explain how authors use the setting of a story help to shape the characters and the plot. Use the PEEL method to respond to the question.
